All About Me

Who am I? You sure you want to know? The story of my life is not for the faint of heart. If someone said it was a happy little tale...if somebody told you I was just your average ordinary guy, not a care in the world...somebody lied--
Oh, wait. That's not me. That's Spider-Man. Let me try again...
For 15 years now, we have lived here. Before that time, I was a pet of my master Yoshi. When we were forced to come to New York, I found myself for the first time without a home, wandering the sewers, scavenging for whatever I could find. And then, one day, I came upon a shattered glass jar and four baby turtles...
Hang on, that's not me either. I'm definitely not a mutated turtle or rat. I've never been to New York, let alone lived in the sewers. I'm going to give this one last try and then give up and go play with some toys.

My name is Damian, I am married with three kids (aged 11, 9 & 7). I have a PhD in Chemistry and put my years of research to great use by not using it at all since.

I do, however, know a lot about toys. No one who's ever been to my house can dispute that fact.

You know how you're supposed to stop buying toys when you get older? No one bothered to tell me that. Actually, my dad did - 'stop wasting your money on lumps of plastic' - but I ignored him.

One thing to note is that I let my children play with all my vintage toys. They're allowed to go to the shelf and ruin the display Dad spent ages setting up. Yes, sometimes things get broken, sometimes Dad cries, but they're toys - they're meant to be played with!

The result is I have probably the only children in the world who want to go to school in Centurions t-shirts.

The only way we could get the above Ace McCloud t-shirt off my youngest son was to make him a Visionaries one. Then he simply alternated between the two. It should be noted that these pictures are a tad old now, but I'm lazy and thus haven't bothered to update them.

You have to adapt to the times, of course, and as the children have grown they've started to have Opinions. As a result I've had to learn about Peppa Pig, Octonauts, Ben 10, and whatever the latest series of Power Rangers is, amongst other things. Sometimes the children and I agree about what constitutes a 'good' toy, sometimes we disagree, however we're all the better for having played with it all.

And now I shall point you in the direction of my other internetty stuff...
